From the moment Zac Farro brought his fledgling musical adventure HalfNoise to the Parachute 2013 stage, we knew we had a love affair on our hands. Little did we know it would be entirely mutual. Volcano Crowe was recorded all across New Zealand’s northern island, from the white hinterlands in the shadow of Mt. Ruapehu, the nation’s largest active volcano, to the vast northern beachfronts of Whananaki. Farro's love of our country bleeds through the whole album, from the opening strains of the Maori Purerehua to old firestation siren that weaves its way through 'Hurricane Love'.
